MATTHEW BOULTON WORK PUBLISHED

Dr. Richard Doty, Curator of Numismatics at the
Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., notes
that his long-standing research on Matthew Boulton will soon
be published under the title "THE SOHO MINT AND THE
INDUSTRIALIZATION OF MONEY". It will be available from
the British Numismatic Society, Spink, and other numismatic
   literature dealers.

STOCKLEY BOOK LIST UPDATE

Literature dealer Richard Stockley of Canada has an email
version of his latest numismatic book list. Send requests
   to: stockley@total.net

THE POSTMAN COMETH

Your scribe can attest to the worthiness of the books announced
in previous issues by Pete Smith and Ronald Greene. Their new
works on U.S. Medal Laws and Canadian Medallists, respectively,
have already arrived in my mailbox. They're both very well
printed and bound, and based on my initial reading, both will
be useful additions to a numismatic library.

NOTABLE QUOTE

A fact not lost on those who named the NBS journal
  "The Asylum":

"There is a very fine line between 'hobby'
and 'mental illness'." -- Dave Barry

FEATURED WEB SITE

In honor of Dr. Doty's research efforts, today's featured
numismatic web site is the National Numismatic Collection
page at the Smithsonian Institution. The page has links to
several online exhibits on coins of the U.S. and the world.
